With parents working from home and the closure of enrichment centres and minimising of social gathering for schools, you and your kids are spending more times at home. Things no longer be the same. Suddenly there are more frictions and you find yourself nagging more than usual. Frustrations arose when the distractions affects the productivity of your work. Suddenly being together seems like a problem.
Here are 5 things you and family can do together.
Set a time-table for the family where everyone does the same. Besides the usual school timing of your child and your working hours, set a family time-table where the whole family can participate.
1. Learn a skill
With so many choices of tutorials on YouTube, everyone get to choose a skill. Pick up that guitar, ukulele or recorder and everyone spends 40mins to learn a song/skill.
2. Gardening
Start planting edible plants in your balcony or a space outside your house. In this way, everyone has a common goal; waiting for the plant to grow and feast on them.
3. Boardgames
When was the last time you, mummy and daddy, played that Uno or Monopoly? This is a good time when everyone plays together, even on an iPad.
4. Housekeeping
Set aside a time for housekeeping. That old cupboard, bookshelf, box of toys... Time for a clean and turn it into a new habit.
5. Pray and Journal
Set a time to pray, and journal this precious moment as the family spend time together besides the school holiday.
Take this opportunity to have the family bond together. When you look back, you will appreciate that time has seemed to slowed for you to enjoy your children.
